Q. Are you estimates free or do I have to pay for them?

Answer. All our estimates are free and we will also carry out a site visit to look at any potential works you might require.

Q. Do I have to pay VAT?

Answer. Yes and no. Most building works we do you would have to pay standard VAT at 20%. But some works like a new build are 0% VAT and some other works come under 5% VAT. Please contacts us to discuss if you are unsure.

Q. Do I need Planning permission and Building Regulations?

Answer. This is hard to be able to say without knowing what scope of works you require as some extensions and alterations can be done under permit development and would require planning permission. Building regulations would be required for any extensions, loft conversions, new builds and some alterations like structural works. Please contact us to discuss if you are unsure.

Q. Do I have to pay a deposit?

Answer. Yes all works would require a deposit. Small works under £10,000 would require a 50% deposit and then full payment upon completion. Works larger than £10,000 come under a different system where a deposit amount as well as instalments are agreed upon before any work starts.

Q. Does plumbing/gas works and electrical works come under a recognised body?

Answer. Yes all plumbing/gas works and electrical works are carried out by registered trades with the appropriate trade organisation like Gas Safe, NIC EIC etc.

Q. Could I see in person some of your previous work?

Answer. Yes of course. We can arrange for a site visit on a previous job as well as a phone conversion if you would like with previous clients upon request.

Q. Do you project manage the whole job?

Answer. Yes we do and this is also how we prefer to do the job as it means we can project manage the work ensuring we deliver all your requirements. We can also coordinate timings for the materials and trades to keep the work moving forward.
